Small Grants Submissions Process

For all proposals between $5,000- $25,000, please follow all instructions as follows.  If instructions are not followed, the PSU Foundation (PSUF) cannot guarantee approval for the submission of your grant.  If a grant is submitted without approval, and is awarded, the PSUF may not accept the award.

Please note: All proposals at this level must be submitted to the PSU Foundation at least two weeks prior to their submission due date.

Determination. Please download the Determination Tool form, and send to your Departmental Research Administrator (DRA), along with information about the proposal. If you do not know who your DRA is, click here.

Your DRA will make a determination on where funds, if awarded, should be managed. They will send a copy of this determination to the PSUF Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) team to confirm the determination.

If you are approved to proceed, download and complete the following forms:

To complete the grant application, answer all questions to the best of your ability.

  • Work with your departmental administrator or unit fiscal officer to assist with a budget.
  • All PSUF grants must include a 5% gift management fee/or “indirect” line item.  This line item should read “PSU Foundation Gift Management Fee” and it should be 5% of costs associated with the grant.  Why 5%?
  • If there are questions you cannot answer, because they request specific information about the university, or the PSU Foundation, see the PSU & PSUF Commonly Requested Information & Mission Statements document in the Supporting Documents list at the bottom of this page.

At least two weeks prior to the grant application due date, please send an email to CFR@psuf.org with:

  • A copy or link to the request for proposal you are responding to
  • The proposal due date
  • A list of questions you were unable to complete
  • A list of attachments you were unable to procure
  • A copy of the proposal and its accompanying attachments
  • Your completed Unit Approvals Form

If proposal is approved by the CFR team, you may submit.

  • If proposal is submitted through an online portal, you are required to share the login and password with the CFR team.
