PSU and the Foundation can both act as fiscal custodians of conferences and events. The Foundation acts as fiscal custodian for conference or event revenue and expenses when the event meets the criteria specified below. In all other instances, PSU acts as the fiscal custodian.
- There is a charitable component to the conference or event. A conference or event has a charitable component when:
- The primary purpose of the conference or event is to solicit donations for a specific cause (i.e. the event is a fundraising event). Event may include fundraising activities such as a silent auction, live auction, paddle raise, etc.
- The purpose of the conference or event is donor/alumni cultivation or stewardship.
- The conference or event is the requirement of a grant or gift agreement currently held by the Foundation.
The Foundation will provide administrative support for conferences or events that meet any of the criteria listed above. Support includes processing all event related revenue and expenses, mailing lists, credit card processing, and a variety of other services to be determined prior to the event.
To request Foundation administrative support for a conference or event, fill out the Event Request Form and Event Budget and email both to eventrequests@psuf.org.
Please provide the requested forms at least 4 weeks in advance of the event. Advanced notice is recommended for any small equipment (laptops, chromebooks, iPads, credit-card scanners, etc.) reservations to ensure availability, and there is no guarantee that equipment will be available.
