The Impact of Scholarships
Portland State serves more first-generation, BIPOC and nontraditional students than any other university in Oregon. These resilient achievers work hard to secure their education, often balancing school, jobs and family responsibilities. With the right support, anything is possible. Scholarships can:
Minimize financial barriers that prevent students from completing their degrees.
Reduce student debt so graduates can focus on their futures.
Provide a sense of belonging and motivation by showing students that someone believes in them.

Scholarships are not just a financial blessing. They are an affirmation of the path that I'm on.

WAYS TO GIVE

Establish a Scholarship at PSU
Creating a scholarship is a meaningful way to support students while honoring a person, profession or cause close to your heart. The best way to start the process of establishing a scholarship is to get in touch with a member of our development team. We can guide you through the process and answer your questions about the best way to make an impact for Portland State students.

create an endowed scholarship
Endowed scholarships provide ongoing support for students. Once fully funded, the funds are invested and after two years, a portion of the earnings is awarded annually to students. Non-endowed scholarships are not invested. Instead, funds are awarded as scholarships until the full gift amount is used. To determine which scholarship type is right for you, please connect with a PSU Foundation development officer.

make a planned gift
Make a lasting impact by including scholarships in your estate plans. Your planned gift can open doors for future generations of students — support tomorrow’s leaders while creating a legacy that reflects your values.
